What are Hydraulic Brakes?

Hydraulic brakes use brake fluid to transfer pressure to the brake pads, bringing your vehicle to a stop. By pushing the brake pedal, you put force on the pistons in the master cylinder, filling a pressure chamber with fluid from the brake fluid reservoir.

Do I Need Hydraulic Brakes?

If you only plan on taking your golf cart to the greens and around the neighborhood, the standard drum brakes on your cart will perform just fine. However, if you’re interested in adding additional speed or taking your golf cart off-road, hydraulic brakes will give you greater stopping power and keep you and any passengers safe.

Installing Hydraulic Brakes

Between installing the hardware, bleeding the brakes, adjusting the components and aligning everything, this is no quick fix. But for any golf cart owner who takes great pride in tinkering on toys and upgrading their cart themselves, it sure is a rewarding afternoon exercise!
